Prayer: God of Peace, we know you save people from sin. Please grow our excitement today about what you save your people for. Amen
Icebreaker: Who are all the people you would most like to invite to spend Christmas day with you?

Scripture: 20But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” 22All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: 23“Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us). 24When Joseph woke from sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded him: he took his wife, 25but knew her not until she had given birth to a son. And he called his name Jesus.
Questions: Vs.23 – Was does Jesus (Immanuel) mean? How is God with us? Is this a good description for Jesus? What other characteristics does Jesus have?
Scripture: 18And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Questions: What is the last thing Jesus tells his disciples and friends. What other things does he tell his disciples to do…that we should be doing as well? How can we do these things in our everyday life?

Prayer: God of Peace, we praise you for the son you gave us, and the promise he made us. Thank you for allowing your presence to always be with us. Fill our hearts with the ability to know you.
