Director of Youth Ministries

First Reformed Church is looking for a Director of Youth Ministries to strengthen and expand the middle school and high school youth of our church.  We seek a person with a passion for their faith and a calling to train, disciple, and nurture the next generation.  The Director of Youth Ministry must also support and implement the purpose and vision statement of First Reformed Church. 
 
Job Status

• Full-Time salaried position
• Flexible office hours in addition to scheduled Sunday morning and Wednesday evening activities and summer travel for youth trips​

Position Objectives:

• Possess a calling and passion to disciple youth and connect with their families

• Develop and empower our youths’ gifts through their active participation in church ministry
• Engage in meaningful personal contacts with FRC youth on an individual basis
• Plan and coordinate high school and middle school Sunday School and Wednesday night youth activities
• Develop and empower the gifts of adult volunteers, interns, and student leaders through active and consistent participation in the ministry
• Provide youth with mission work experiences and retreats.
• Plan, develop, and lead fundraising to support youth ministry opportunities
• Support the church’s doctrinal statements, constitution, and vision
• Facilitate the volunteer youth ministry team by recommending specific programs, policies, and vision
• Advance the youth ministry effectiveness by attending retreats, conferences, and continuing education opportunities
• Attend weekly staff meetings and provide ministry status updates at Consistory meetings upon request and as necessary 

 
Position is Accountable To:

• Accountable to the Pastor and Consistory to ensure the youth programs are developed in accordance with the church’s comprehensive education plan to teach and train our youth.
• Accountable to the Pastor and Consistory for the implementation of FRC Mission Statement for the greater church body.
• Accountable to the Board of Elders in life and doctrine.
• Accountable to the Administrative Team for personnel issues (hours of work, reimbursements, continuing education, etc.)
